The 2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter is an ideal van for urban deliveries and mobile workshops. As powerful as conventional Sprinters, it has the advantage of emitting no greenhouse gases, equipped with a 100% electric powertrain.
As the first EV van from the brand available in Canada, the 2024 eSprinter relies on the same platform as its internal combustion engine counterparts. The next generation, possibly available in 2025, is expected to have a new dedicated platform.
Initially offered in the 2500 cargo version with a long wheelbase (170 inches), the 2024 eSprinter is eligible, notably for the federal incentive program ($), iVMLZE.
2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter: Energetic!
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter is equipped with a 113 kWh battery. It contains neither cobalt nor nickel (LFP type), allowing for a complete daily recharge. The power of the level 2 onboard charger (AC) is 9.6 kW, fully recharging the battery in 12.5 hours.
Via a level 3 fast charger (DC), the power goes up to 115 kW, resulting in a battery recharge in 42 minutes (from 10% to 80%). The eSprinter's battery is guaranteed for 8 years or 160,000 km. Regarding charging management, Mercedes-Benz has partnered with ChargePoint.
A single 150 kW (204 hp) motor drives the rear wheels of the eSprinter, providing a range of 400 km. Naturally, the payload weight in the cargo space (volume of 13.8 m3 / payload up to 1,190 kg) affects the range, which can reach 475 km with lighter loads. The GVWR of the eSprinter is 4,250 kg.
A Connected Van
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter boasts a comfortable and connected driving environment. The multifunction steering wheel is heated, featuring a wireless charging tray for mobile devices. Remote control of heating/air conditioning and doors is possible, along with the MBUX system with a 10.2-inch screen. Additionally, it includes a charging station locator and valet alert. Various digital services are available through the Mercedes me connect app for professional or personal use.
